Be You
Your experiences are your stepping stone
Let your beliefs guide you
Let your doubts drive you
Let your hopes uplift you
Let your fear spur you
Do you and be you
Molded solid from sand to bone

Hear that whisper
Those words that would pierce your soul
Feel the shiver
As it ignites that passion within
Pleasure so much it could be pain
Yet a pain you can never let go of

Give yourself a chance
Look within and praise yourself
Don’t look at him, beside you he is dim
Don’t look at her, she can’t be all you are
Focus on positivity and grow it
Make a plan and work at it

Our life, our love’s glory
To stand for you in all you pursue
To long for you for in all that I do
To be with you to the ends of the earth
To grow with you till our bones seek rebirth

Why do I love this person?
Why is my heart so certain?
Do I love you because you are good?
Or Do I love you because you are smooth?
Do I love because you care?
Or do I love you because you are here?
Surely love is itself a question
That no one ever seems to mention

Not everyone loves you
Even those that have reason to
It does not matter that you are true
It does not matter that you are blue
If you want to act, please do
But remember to do it for you
Cos not everyone loves you
Even those that you love too

What is the power in the word?
When it doesn’t swipe like the sword
What is pain in your heart?
When it is not actually torn apart
Why do we validate only what we see?
When our minds are what make us be
To love, to hate
To build, to break
All you feel is valid, all you feel is real
Let no one tell you different, you are allowed to feel

Like in this very moment I can fly
Bursting out from the rotten despair
from the burden of fear, of rage
The sky is mine now and I can twirl in it
I can reach the light and kiss it
Did I say I am free? Can you see?
Oh yes I am
So so very thankful to be free
